Highland Semen from Lord Rannoch of Lucies

Lord Rannoch was born at Lucies Farm on 8 January 1996 and registered with the Highland Cattle Society and DEFRA. His Society herd book number is 8562, and BCMS registration number is UKWE050700002.

We applied to DEFRA on 15 August 2003 for permission to use Lord Rannoch in artificial insemination. This entailed a battery of veterinary examinations and tests: Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheltis using the ELISA antibody serum test, BVD/IBR, serology, and others. Our vet examined Rannoch. The DEFRA vet examined Rannoch. And on 16 September 2003 we were granted the appropriate permit by DEFRA. Rannoch was promptly moved to U.K. Sire Services in Devon on 24 September 2003, where the quarantine process began all over again.
